The conference theme is "The Diverse Scope of Herbal Practice". I'm giving a workshop on berries.
The herb walk is a "treasure hunt" with the aim of finding the 16 different medicinal herbs described (with words and pictures) in a folder each participant receives at the beginning of the walk. We sample and talk about how the herbs can be used in food and medicine. The walk takes around 2 hours at a slow pace.
Price: £10 pp
Booking: firstname.lastname@example.org or 07477 220 707
A hands-on approach will make it easier to use the knowledge you gain in your daily life, and detailed handouts with recipes and individual berry profiles are provided.
These humble and easily accessible foods have powerful and universal health benefits. No wonder they are one of the most common foods on the planet, eaten by almost every species, as well as by people of every dietary persuasion.

Hello Herb Lovers
For those of you who are interested in herb-walking, the first walk this year will be on Saturday the 29th at Tablehurst as usual. I welcome all herb lovers on these walks. I always make sure we look at new plants every time, although some will be the same as last year. Since there are endless interesting facts and recipes to share about each herb, there is little chance you’ll have heard it all before :-).
The walk takes around 2 hours at a slow pace with lots of stops to look at and talk about what we find. You’ll be given a handout with pictures and interesting facts about the herbs we find, usually between 16 and 20 different ones.
Please bring a bottle of water, and wear walking boots, trainers or wellies.
I hope to see you on the walk. If you can’t come on this one, but would like to join me on the next. We look at different herbs each time. The walks planned for this year at Tablehurst (always starting 2pm) are -
April 29th - May 20th - June 17th - July 15th - September 16th - October 14th
I'll be there with books and berries and spices, together with lots of other Emerson artists and artisans. Come and join us to celebrate the light returning with a bonfire, Christmas stories, artisan stalls, open studios, Robin's Nest creche, Christmas crafts, music and song. Bring yourself along - there'll be a candle-let labyrinth to walk if you wish. Roasted chestnuts and chai, or choose some other delectable dish, such as raw'n'chi chocolate and a hot mulled Emerson orchard apple juice.
